“It was made by my hands, and
evidence of this can be found in every piece made”
And when I say us, ours, we... its really just me, myself & I.
I am a one woman team, I make everything myself, including the glazes, the website, the social media, ordering, restocking, fielding questions and keeping myself, my husband, our four year old, and hoard of animals alive, happy 'n well fed.
Every piece is handmade from rolled out slabs of clay or slip casted. I create my glazes from raw materials by following recipes.
Pottery has taught me patience, it cannot be rushed.
My favourite part of the process is carving into the clay. I find the process to be meditative & am often told it is mesmerizing to watch, I love being able to share these experiences with others.
I draw inspiration from Mother Nature, its likely because I have always lived outside the city limits, even now surrounded by trees.
Embracing the philosophy of wabi sabi, which celebrates elements that are weathered, worn or rusted.
Appreciating the beauty in the naturally imperfect world.
Ikigai is a Japanese term that roughly translates to “reason for being.” Ikigai (pronounced “eye-ka-guy”) is, above all else, a lifestyle that strives to balance the spiritual with the practical.
This balance is found at the intersection where your passions and talents converge with the things that the world needs and is willing to pay for.
